Coming out of my Christmas Coma & Advent Calendar 2012

The last time I posted, we were breaking out the Christmas decorations. My kids were reminding to jump into the fun of the season with both feet. I am just now coming up for air.

This year, I updated our Advent Calendar with some new activities and decided to daily take and post pictures of our activities on instagram (@jamiebrewha), twitter (@hippypastorwife), and on my personal Facebook page. It was both an intention to hold myself accountable to fully doing all of the things I planned as well as sharing our celebration of the season with friends and family.

Im a little exhausted just looking at the list and the pictures, but we had a blast. It meant things like Christmas shopping and meal preparations were pushed a little to the last minute, but it kept me grounded in my kids needs. Some days when things would get crazy the few hours we spent making Christmas ornaments or even the few minutes we spent wrapping toys really turned the tone of the day around.

We finished off Christmas with three days of cooking and entertaining, It was wonderful and chaotic. Weve spent the past few days recovering, sledding, and gearing up for Bs 6th birthday tomorrow.

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year everyone! Thanks for reading, and I look forward to writing more in 2013!
